![]() ![]() Intel Burn Test v2.54 – Stress level: MaximumĪIDA64 Extreme Version – Temperature monitoring. The settings of the software used are the following: The idle test consists of the CPU sitting idle at the desktop for 30 minutes, the temperature was measured at the end of the test. The room temperature was approximately 26☌ (78☏), with 1☌ margin of error. The cooler was tested with the CPU at the default turbo frequency of 3.9 GHz and overclocked to 4.5 GHz with a core voltage of 1.187 V.Īlso the included fans have been used at their maximum speed. – RAM: Crucial Ballistix Tactical 8GB DDR3 2133MHz – Processor: Intel i5 4690K 3.9 GHz and overclocked to 4.5 GHz ![]() The following system was used to test the cooler: The cable of the fan is covered entirely in black sleeving, also it uses a 4-Pin Molex connector The included fan is part of the Kaze Flex series, model SS1225FD12M-CHP, it has a minimum speed of 300 RPM and a maximum speed of 1200 RPM, also it features PWM. The screws of the mounting system can be accessed through the spaces at the top of the cooler using the included screwdriver. Here we have the caps of the heatpipes while in the middle there is engraved the Scythe logo. The top of the cooler is brushed to a reflective look. The base is brushed to a mirror-like finish. The base of the cooler is made out of nickel-plated copper. These are arranged in a U shape to facilitate the heat dissipation, also these maintain the asymmetric shape of the heatsink. The Mugen 5 model uses 6 heatpipes made out of Nickel-plated copper, each with a diameter of 6mm. The corners are shaped to allow for a better mounting of the fan. The heatsink uses 40 fins each, these are made out of aluminum. The cooler is accompanied by one 120mm Kaze Flex fan. The main materials used in its construction are nickel plated copper and aluminum, offering a good performance to weight ratio, the cooler weights 890g. The cooler has a single tower design with a asymmetric shape for a better memory compatibility. This leads to an increased cooling performance by making use of the push / pull principle. The Mugen 5 package also includes an extra-long screwdriver for easy mounting.ĭual Fan Mount Structure: Like its predecessors, the Mugen 5 was designed to mount a second fan (not included). The already pre-assembled mounting bar makes installation much simpler, while spring-loaded screws prevent uneven pressure distribution. II (Hyper Precision Mounting System II): The second generation of the Hyper Precision Mounting System was designed with several small improvements benefiting the user friendliness. Rubberized pads have a decoupling effect and prevent the transfer of vibrations. The self-contained liquid bearing (Sealed Precision FDB) reduces friction and wear to a minimum, which results in an average lifespan of 120.000 hours. It operates in a range from 300 to 1.200 RPM. Kaze Flex 120 PWM Fan: The Mugen 5 is equipped with a PWM fan from the newly developed Kaze Flex series. This asymmetrical design allows unrestricted access to the memory slots. Its heatpipes are slightly sloped backwards so that the radiator is not centered above the baseplate, but slightly offset. Intel: LGA775, 1150, 1151, 1155, 1156, 1366, 2011, 2011-v3(Square ILM)ĪMD: AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+, FM1, FM2, FM2+įan Speed: 300 (☒00 rpm) ~ 1.200 rpm (☑0%) (PWM-controlled)Īsymmetric design for maximum memory compatibility: RAM modules with large passive heatsinks are no problem for the Mugen 5. ![]() The product comes with the following accessories: The back side of the packaging presents the warranty policy in 3 different languages. The sides of the box present the features & specifications of the product using a diagram. On the lower side, there are both the name of the product and the compatible sockets. The front side of the box presents the cooler with a general image of it, on the right top there is the Scythe logo. The Mugen 5 model is packaged in a cardboard box with a black background and blue accents. Based on this philosophy, the PC enthusiasts working at Scythe know what to develop because that is exactly what we would like to have for ourselves too!
